I'm really very interested in learning tribal dance, but are there any classes in the NE Ohio area? If not, I'll settle for any recommended bellydance classes. I live in the Youngstown area and I can't travel super far..
I'm an absolute beginner as well.
Thank you ahead of time!

Edit: I found this site:

Can anyone recommend any of these?

New costume!
This costume was inspired by the fabric! I got a great deal on the sari-silk brocade (for the choli) and the matching silk chiffon (the overskirt). Since I couldn't resist the glorious fabric, I decided to make a Indian fusion costume! (For those interested, the choli was made from the Folkwear Tribal Dancer pattern, but I mucked it up a bit.)

hello everyone. i've recently fallen in love with the art of bellydance. my wonderful husband bought a copy of the Gothic Bellydance DVD for me, and i've been eager to learn more ever since. i live in Ashland, Ky. i don't know of any classes close by, and i do not have a car, so, i ordered Rachel Brice's Tribal Fusion DVD and am excited about getting it so i can begin learning. i intend to order a few other DVDs in the very near future.
i want to meet others who are interested in bellydance and actual dancers. i do not wish to become discouraged and give up on this new endeavor. i hope to make friends here. thank you for having me. hope to talk to you all soon.

Current Mood: excited

Ok, I just joined this community and thought that since it's blank, I would say hi! I'm Michelle and I'm a student of Kira Lafave (of Kira's Oasis fame). I'm in Dayton, and I've been dancing for about a year and a half. I've been studying mostly Egyptian style, but I am so very drawn to tribal and tribal fusion. I'm thrilled to say that in about two weeks, I've be at Rachel Brice's workshop.

That said, I'd better go do a yoga video in preperation for that!
